Morena Ramoreboli resigns as Botswana national team coach

Morena Ramoreboli has resigned as the head coach of the Botswana national football team, the Zebras, to join the South African national team as an assistant to head coach Pitso Mosimane.

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) expressed that it was not keen on the departure and felt blindsided by the sudden resignation. However, the association noted it had no legal means to force Ramoreboli to honor his contract.

Ramoreboli’s exit occurs just ahead of the Zebras' Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign, which includes upcoming matches against Libya on September 24 and Tunisia on September 28. The BFA is currently in the process of appointing an interim coach and expects the transition to have minimal impact on the team's scheduled preparations.
