Morena reports flight costs for Andy López Beltrán amid transparency concerns

The Morena political party has reported spending 138,182.55 Mexican pesos on 27 airline tickets for Andrés Manuel ‘Andy’ López Beltrán during his tenure as Secretary of Organization. However, investigations into transparency requests have revealed significant inconsistencies regarding the travel expenses.

Journalist Lourdes Mendoza reported that while the party provided invoices for flights via Aeroméxico, Viva Aerobus, and Volaris, there are no records or receipts for lodging, food, or ground transportation for the 19 commissions conducted across 17 states between January 2025 and March 2026. The party’s finance department stated that information regarding accommodation and meals does not exist.

Further discrepancies were noted in the documentation. Some official letters intended to authorize travel for 2025 were reportedly created in July 2026, more than a year after the dates they supposedly covered. Additionally, the party took 43 days and a requested extension to respond to the transparency inquiry, ultimately directing the requester to search for the data themselves on the National Transparency Platform rather than providing a direct summary of objectives or companions.
