Morena reviews candidates for Coordination of the Transformation in Baja California Sur

Morena has started a formal review of around 300 applications submitted by individuals seeking to coordinate the Defence of the Transformation in Baja California Sur. Karina González Gabarain, president of Morena's state committee, said registration took place on 22 June both in Mexico City and through a virtual platform. The party will verify documents, contact applicants who need to complete paperwork, and publish a final list of approved candidates.

Approved candidates will be required to conduct house‑to‑house outreach, hold informational assemblies and work with allied parties to prepare the territory for the 2027 elections. The coordination role could later become a bid for the state governorship. Among the applicants mentioned are Christian Agúndez Gómez, Manuel Cota Cárdenas, Milena Quiroga Romero, Saúl González Núñez, Diana Von Borstel Luna and Jesús Alberto “Cheto” Alvarado Aragón. The process will continue while the national committee validates the records and prepares a territorial survey.
