Morena shopkeeper shot by five men over unpaid bill

A shopkeeper was shot and injured in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, after demanding payment for goods. The incident occurred late Saturday night near the Sikroda Canal in front of the Govardhan Hotel.

According to reports, five individuals arrived on two motorcycles after dining at a nearby hotel. They purchased cigarettes and cold drinks but attempted to leave without paying. When the shopkeeper, identified as 34-year-old Gitaram Gurjar, demanded payment, the group allegedly began verbally abusing him. The confrontation escalated when the suspects produced weapons and opened fire.

Gurjar sustained a gunshot wound to his hand. He was rushed to a district hospital, where doctors reported his condition is currently stable and out of danger. Local police from the Civil Line station have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify and apprehend the suspects.
