Religious leaders conduct various liturgical services across Romania and Moldova
Various religious ceremonies and liturgical services were conducted across Romania and Moldova in early September 2026.
In Romania, Metropolitan Teofan led the consecration of the church in Moreni–Prisăcani, Iași County. Archbishop Timotei Seviciu of Arad presided over services in Agrișul Mic, where priest Daniel Constantin Sbîrcea was honored with the rank of iconom. In Beiuș, Apostolic Nuncio Giampiero Gloder and Bishop Virgil Bercea led a Greek Catholic liturgy at the ‘Sfinții Trei Ierarhi’ church. Other regional activities included the blessing of a summer altar in Oroftiana de Sus by Bishop Nichifor and a baptismal service in Huși led by Bishop Ignatie.
In Moldova, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chișinău and All Moldova presided over services in Ialoveni to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a local priest's ministry, including the decoration of several clergy members with ecclesiastical orders.
