Moreno Picchio, former cyclist and sports figure, dies at 62

The sports community in the Vallesina region is mourning the sudden death of Moreno Picchio, a former amateur cyclist and masseur, who passed away at the age of 62 due to illness.

Picchio was a well-known figure in regional cycling during the 1980s and 1990s. His competitive achievements included winning a stage at the Giro della Valsesia in 1991 and securing notable placements in the Gran Premio Capodarco. Following his competitive career, he remained active in the sporting world, serving as a masseur for Jesina Calcio Femminile and becoming a familiar presence at Moie Vallesina.

In tribute to his impact on the community, the Moie Vallesina sports club announced the suspension of all activities, ranging from youth sectors to the first team, as a sign of respect and mourning.
