Arsenal pursue Morgan Rogers as Aston Villa set record fee demand

Arsenal have identified Aston Villa’s England international Morgan Rogers as their primary target for the summer transfer window. Villa remain firm, stating that any sale would require a fee exceeding £130 million – a sum that would set a new record sell‑on fee for an English player. The club’s stance is reinforced by recent UEFA financial‑fair‑play penalties that force Villa to consider off‑loading assets to avoid a possible European competition ban.

Several other clubs, including Manchester United, Paris Saint‑Germain, Chelsea and Liverpool, have also been linked with Rogers, but Arsenal are reportedly the frontrunners, having made significant progress in talks with the player’s camp. Rogers, who helped Villa qualify for the Champions League and featured for England at the World Cup, is believed to favour a move, while Villa cite the £116 million Elliot Anderson deal as a benchmark for negotiations.
