Morgan Stanley and BMO report XRP ETF holdings in regulatory filings
Recent SEC 13F filings reveal growing institutional exposure to XRP through regulated exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Morgan Stanley disclosed holdings in three separate XRP-related products in its Q2 2026 filing, including the Franklin XRP ETF, REX-Osprey, and Bitwise. Reported positions included 6,715 shares of the Franklin XRP ETF, 255 REX-Osprey shares, and 67 Bitwise shares. These holdings provide exposure through established financial markets rather than direct cryptocurrency ownership.
Similarly, the Bank of Montreal reported small XRP-linked ETF positions through its controlled investment adviser, Stoker Ostler Wealth Advisors. The bank held 323 shares of the REX-Osprey XRP ETF and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF. These positions represented a minimal fraction of the bank’s total $303.65 billion portfolio.
Note that 13F filings reflect historical holdings as of the end of the reporting period and do not account for direct crypto holdings, short positions, or transactions occurring after the filing date.
