Morgan Stanley Expands Crypto Access on E*Trade Platform

Morgan Stanley announced that eligible clients of its E*Trade brokerage can now buy, sell and hold Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana in spot markets. The move follows the firm’s launch of a spot Bitcoin fund earlier in the year and reflects a broader trend among traditional financial institutions to integrate digital assets into their offerings.

The inclusion of Solana gives traditional investors a familiar entry point to the blockchain, with the token trading around $78 at the time of reporting. Analysts note that the Solana network continues to show strong activity across stablecoins, decentralized exchanges and tokenized real‑world assets, which could bolster institutional interest and influence the cryptocurrency’s price.

Other major firms such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity have recently introduced their own crypto platforms, underscoring a growing competitive landscape for retail and advisory crypto services.
