Morgan Stanley increases GOTO stake to over 5%

Morgan Stanley and Co International Plc has increased its stake in PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) through two transactions conducted on August 21, 2026. The total value of these acquisitions amounted to approximately Rp87.3 billion.

According to disclosure data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the firm purchased a total of 3,795,863,900 shares at a price of Rp23 per share. The first transaction involved 3,138,522,500 shares valued at roughly Rp72.19 billion, while the second involved 657,341,400 shares valued at approximately Rp15.12 billion. Although the transactions were for investment purposes with direct ownership status, the disclosure categorized the transaction type as ‘others’ rather than a standard purchase.

Following these transactions, Morgan Stanley’s total holdings in GOTO rose to 59,368,333,838 shares, representing 5.1563% of the company’s total voting rights. This marks an increase from its previous holding of 55,572,469,938 shares, or 4.8267% of voting rights.
