Morges hosts 17th Livre sur les quais literary festival

The 17th edition of the Livre sur les quais literary festival will take place in Morges from September 4 to 6, 2026. Under the honorary presidency of Delphine de Vigan, the event is centered on the theme ‘Se raconter des histoires’ (Telling stories to one another).

The program features 170 authors and 150 events designed to move literature beyond the printed page. Highlights include collective reading experiences such as silent reading cruises on Lake Geneva and a ‘Battle of the Classics’ involving public voting. The festival also emphasizes mobility and hybridity, offering literary journeys via vintage postal buses to the Jan Michalski Foundation in Montricher and integrating dance improvisation with literary workshops.

Discussions will explore various boundaries, including geographic, linguistic, and political themes. This includes celebrating 40 years of the Noir sur Blanc publishing house, which has facilitated dialogue between Eastern and Western European literatures since 1986.
