Morio Kishimoto expresses interest in Sonic storybook series remakes

Morio Kishimoto, the director of Sonic Frontiers, has expressed interest in remaking or reimagining two titles from the Sonic storybook series: Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic and the Black Knight.

During an official Q&A, Kishimoto noted that these Wii-era titles were foundational to his career, stating he learned “what a Sonic game is all about through them.” He expressed a desire to challenge his past self, suggesting that his honed skills would allow him to perform better on such projects now.

Kishimoto also mentioned an interest in Sonic Unleashed. However, he stated he has no intention of remaking the original Sonic the Hedgehog, describing the classic title as too great to reconstruct.
