Moritz Seider identified as Norris Trophy dark horse

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider has emerged as a dark horse candidate for the Norris Trophy. Analyst Adam Gretz of Bleacher Report identified Seider as a top contender for the 2026-27 award, noting his status as a premier two-way defenseman.

Seider, who won the Calder Memorial Trophy in the 2021-22 season, recently recorded career highs including 60 points and a plus-15 rating. He maintains an unbroken ironman streak of 410 consecutive games. While the Red Wings have faced a ten-season playoff drought, Seider remains a central figure in the franchise's development following his selection as the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.
