Morón officials criticize opposition over security protests

In Morón, local official Agustín Ramponelli has criticized opposition members for what he termed “political utilization” of recent security incidents. The remarks follow a violent attack against a retired police officer in El Palomar, which prompted protests at the home of Mayor Lucas Ghi.

Ramponelli, representing the Partido Justicialista-Movimiento Derecho al Futuro, distinguished legitimate citizen frustration from the actions of the Nuevo Encuentro faction. He accused the group, which previously managed the municipal Security Secretariat, of ignoring previous requests for information and only addressing insecurity issues to undermine the current administration.
