Morne Morkel outlines workload management and training for India tour of New Zealand
Indian bowling coach Morne Morkel has detailed strategies to manage player workloads and prepare the squad for the upcoming tour of New Zealand, which includes T20Is, ODIs, and two Test matches.
Morkel revealed a plan to utilize a rotation of bowlers to handle the busy schedule. As part of this strategy, left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is being considered for a Test debut due to his ability to swing the ball in various conditions.
To prepare for the challenging weather in Wellington, where wind speeds can reach 120 km/h, Morkel has advised players to practice standing in front of strong fans at home to simulate the local conditions. The coach noted that the intense winds in Wellington can affect both batting balance and bowling rhythm, making mental and physical adaptation crucial for the team's success.
