Moroccan Airports Slash Passenger Processing Times
Airports in Morocco reported a marked reduction in passenger processing times for the first half of 2026. Average departure checks at border control points fell to 3.6 minutes, a 24 % drop from the previous year, while average arrival checks steadied at 9.6 minutes, a 22 % improvement.
At Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport, the average arrival processing time fell to 5.4 minutes – a 54 % cut – and departure time dropped to 2.25 minutes, a 70 % reduction. Marrakech Menara Airport saw arrival times of 6.86 minutes (down 16 %) and departures of 5.09 minutes (down 22.5 %). Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport reduced arrival time to 11.93 minutes, a 52 % gain, while Fez Saïss Airport recorded a departure time of 1.53 minutes, among the fastest in the network.
The improvements are attributed to coordinated actions by the national security directorate, the Ministry of the Interior and airport authorities under the "Airports Morocco 2030" strategy, which aims to enhance infrastructure and passenger experience nationwide.
