Moroccan artists Hassan Hajjaj and Mohamed Mourabiti featured in new exhibitions

The Cité de la musique is hosting an exhibition dedicated to Moroccan photographer, stylist, and visual artist Hassan Hajjaj. Titled ‘My Rock Stars’, the exhibition features approximately forty portraits of both international stars and anonymous figures. The works showcase models in custom outfits designed by Hajjaj that blend traditional Moroccan clothing with urban fashion. The presentation includes details such as recycled objects used for framing and a soundtrack by the group Acid Arab.

In Casablanca, La Galerie 38 will host a retrospective of painter Mohamed Mourabiti starting October 15, 2026. The exhibition spans nearly forty years of work, from 1988 to the present. Mourabiti’s art is deeply connected to his environment, drawing inspiration from the landscapes, architecture, and materials of Marrakech and Tahannaout. His work utilizes pigments, earth, tar, and fabric to explore themes of territory, memory, and the relationship between the visible and invisible.
