Moroccan citizen Abdelrahim Faqir dies in Bologna; consulate oversees case and repatriation

Abdelrahim Faqir, a Moroccan national, died on 19 July in Bologna during an intervention by Italian police. The Moroccan Consulate General in Bologna, headed by Consul General Khadija Bendour, visited his family and announced a full mobilisation of Morocco's diplomatic and consular services to handle the matter.

The consulate is coordinating closely with the Moroccan Embassy in Rome and maintaining direct contact with the relevant Italian authorities. It is monitoring the ongoing judicial proceedings and arranging the necessary legal permissions to transfer Faqir's body to Morocco, pledging continued support to the family throughout the process.
