Moroccan culture: New film release and Marrakech Comedy Festival on Disney+

The Moroccan film ‘Stylish’, directed by Jawad El Khaoudi, is scheduled for national theatrical release on Wednesday, October 14. The production is a social drama and thriller centered on Younes, a father from a working-class neighborhood who is desperately trying to raise 120,000 dirhams for his daughter’s heart surgery. His financial vulnerability makes him a target for a terrorist cell looking to exploit his desperation for a violent plot.

In a separate cultural development, Disney+ will exclusively stream the francophone gala from the Marrakech Comedy Festival starting October 16. Produced by Karim Debbouze and directed by Malik Bentalha, the festival was held in June at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech. The event aims to bridge Moroccan and francophone comedy scenes, featuring performers such as Meryem Benoua, Tom Baldetti, Paul de Saint-Sernin, and Nordine Ganso.
