Moroccan footballers Sofiane Rahimi and Sofiane Amrabat make personal announcements

Moroccan footballer Sofiane Rahimi, who plays for Al Ain, has announced the passing of his father, El Haj ‘Youari’. In a moving social media post, Rahimi expressed his grief, describing his father as his primary supporter and the person who first believed in his career.

Separately, Moroccan midfielder Sofiane Amrabat has announced that he will not represent the Morocco national team as long as current coach Mohamed Wahbi is in charge. Amrabat stated that while representing Morocco has been his greatest honor, he does not feel able to continue under the current technical leadership. He clarified that this is not a retirement from international football and left the door open for a potential return if circumstances change.
