Fact‑checking platform Matpartajich exposed a false claim published by the Spanish outlet El Confidencial. The newspaper attached a photo of a young man lying in a hospital bed, alleging it showed a Moroccan victim of a "harsh attack" by Moroccan security forces at the Ceuta (Sábtah) border. Digital verification proved the image actually depicts a Palestinian injured during an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.

The Moroccan Ministry of Interior, which has warned that many border incidents are amplified by fabricated media, cited the case as evidence of "digital misinformation" aimed at inflaming public opinion and tarnishing security forces.
