50‑year‑old arrested in Termoli after arson of four vehicles

In the early hours of 18 July, Carabinieri from the Termoli station arrested a 50‑year‑old man from Foggia following an order of custodial detention in prison issued by the Court of Appeal in Campobasso and later confirmed by the Court of Cassation. The suspect, already under investigation for stalking and damage‑related arson, is linked to a night‑time incident on 29 December 2025 in which three vehicles parked on a residential street in Termoli were deliberately set on fire and a fourth ignited by fire spread. The investigation, coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office in Larino, identified the acts as part of a stalker‑type campaign that altered the victims’ daily routines. After an earlier electronic‑bracelet restriction, the court imposed the harsher custodial measure to address community alarm and underscore the Carabinieri’s preventive and repressive response to serious local crime.
