Moroccan political parties outline competing social and economic visions

Moroccan political parties are presenting diverging visions for the country's future, focusing on social welfare, economic stability, and administrative reform.

Representatives from the Istiqlal Party have proposed a state-led approach emphasizing national sovereignty and public services. Key proposals include the generalization of free preschool education, the training of 100,000 digital talents, and the creation of a national emergency agency. To support youth, the party suggested marriage incentives and housing assistance, while promising to protect retirees through healthcare gratuity and pension fund reforms.

In a separate regional meeting in Berkane, Fouzi Lekjaa of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) urged a shift away from political polemics toward substantive debates on program costs and implementation. Lekjaa defended PAM's integrated economic and social program, noting that its realization would require approximately 70 billion dirhams in additional annual funding. The party aims to address rising living costs, purchasing power erosion, and challenges within the health and education sectors.
