Moroccan security seizes more than 800 kg of hashish in Tangier and Ceuta raids

Moroccan security forces dismantled two large hashish trafficking operations in the north of the country. In the outskirts of Tangier, the Royal Gendarmerie intercepted a vehicle loaded with more than 700 kg of hashish prepared for export; the driver fled the scene and the vehicle was seized. Separate customs and police teams stopped a foreign‑registered car at the Bab Ceuta border crossing, uncovering 120.5 kg of hashish hidden in plates and the spare‑wheel compartment. The driver, a 38‑year‑old Moroccan resident in Spain, was handed over to the judicial police for investigation. Both seizures are part of intensified Moroccan efforts to curb drug trafficking routes through the Strait of Gibraltar, with investigations underway to identify additional participants and destination networks.
