Moroccan suspect arrested after assaulting wheelchair user in Reggio Emilia
On 22 May 2026 police in Reggio Emilia intervened after a 33‑year‑old Moroccan man was reported for shoplifting at a store on Corso Garibaldi. The suspect fled the shop, confronted a passerby using a wheelchair, knocked the victim from the chair and struck him with kicks, punches and a thrown stone, injuring the victim’s left leg.
The suspect was apprehended and charged with improper robbery and aggravated damage. He remains in police custody awaiting a judicial hearing.
