Moroccan workers trained for roles in Italy's Conad retail network

Thirty-eight Moroccan citizens have completed a professional and linguistic training program in Casablanca to prepare for employment opportunities within the butchery departments of the Conad retail chain in Italy.

The initiative, promoted by Synergie Italia in collaboration with Italian and Moroccan partners, combines specific professional training with Italian language instruction. The program was supported by the Luna association and the Cité des Métiers et des Compétences.

According to Italian Ambassador to Morocco Pasquale Salzano, the project aligns with Article 23 of the Consolidated Law on Immigration, which facilitates the regular entry of workers through training programs in their countries of origin. Salzano noted that the initiative addresses the need for qualified skills in Italy while acknowledging Morocco's industrial development, suggesting the model could be expanded to other professional sectors to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
