Morocco amputee football team plays Poland in World Cup preparation

The Moroccan national amputee football team held a friendly match against Poland at the Sidi Youssef Ben Ali sports complex in Marrakech. This match is part of the team's preparatory program for upcoming international competitions, specifically the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup scheduled to take place in Mexico in November 2026.

National team coach Othman Najmi stated that the current selection phase involves 20 players, with five players expected to depart the group following the conclusion of the friendly matches. These matches serve as a critical evaluation period for technical, physical, and tactical readiness to finalize the roster for the World Cup. The team aims to build on its previous performance in the 2022 World Cup in Istanbul, where they finished fifth out of 24 participating nations.
