Morocco and Algeria to face off in Mediterranean Games semi-final

Morocco and Algeria will face each other in a North African derby during the semi-finals of the 2026 Mediterranean Games football tournament. The match is scheduled to take place this Friday at the Iacovone Stadium in Taranto.

Morocco secured their place in the semi-finals following a dominant 5-1 victory against North Macedonia in their final group stage match. Goals were scored by Hamza Raji, Rayan Zinebi Talbi, Mohamed Mounssef, Karim Essaadi, and Abdelghafour Gourari. This win allowed Morocco to finish second in Group A, narrowly ahead of Turkey.

Algeria advances to the semi-finals after a group stage performance that included a victory against Kosovo. The highly anticipated match between the two sides will be broadcast on ENTV in Algeria and Arryadia in Morocco.
