Morocco and EU conclude PASS III health sector support program

Morocco and the European Union have concluded the third phase of the Health Sector Support Programme (PASS III) in Rabat. Launched in 2020, the initiative was designed to support Morocco’s strategic reforms in its national healthcare system.

The program focused on several key areas, including primary healthcare, territorial governance, quality of care, and hospital accreditation. It also played a critical role in strengthening Morocco’s capacity for monitoring, preparing for, and responding to sanitary crises, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Specific achievements included enhancing the technical capabilities and equipment at the Ibn Sina University Hospital Center in Rabat. During the closing ceremony, Moroccan Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tehraoui and EU Ambassador Demetrios Tzantziev reaffirmed the commitment to a long-term strategic partnership, which has existed in the health sector since 2002, aiming to build a more equitable and efficient healthcare system.
