Morocco and Netherlands meet in World Cup round of 32 in Monterrey

Governor Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda of Mexico’s Nuevo León state said the region is proud to host the Moroccan national team and its supporters for the World Cup round‑of‑32 clash with the Netherlands. He announced a special programme that includes a fan march from the nearby water park to the Monterrey stadium and a series of entertainment events.

Moroccan Football Federation president Fouzi Lakoua and ambassador Abdel Fattah Lubar confirmed that Mexican authorities have provided extensive security, logistical and hospitality arrangements. Both sides described the upcoming match as “exceptional” and expressed hope that the Moroccan “Atlas Lions” will progress to the next stage.

The city of Monterrey has already transformed streets and public spaces with World Cup‑themed decorations, drawing large crowds of Moroccan fans who have travelled to the venue for the high‑profile encounter.
