Tunisia and Morocco secure points in AFCON 2027 qualifiers
In the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Tunisia and Morocco both secured points with contrasting results.
Tunisia played to a 2-2 draw against Botswana at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Radès. After falling behind to a goal by Thataiyoni Kgamanani in the 37th minute, Hazem Msouri scored twice for Tunisia in the 44th and 49th minutes. However, Botswana's Lebogang Ditseile equalized in the 60th minute. This result leaves Tunisia with two points from two matches, matching Botswana's tally in Group Eight.
Morocco continued their perfect start in Group A with a 2-0 victory over Lesotho in Bloemfontein. Brahim Díaz opened the scoring just before halftime, and Azzedine Ounahi secured the win in the 82nd minute. Morocco's head coach Mohamed Ouahbi utilized several squad changes, including the return of Achraf Hakimi from injury. With two wins from two matches, Morocco maintains a flawless record in the qualifying campaign.
