Morocco and Uzbekistan sign parliamentary cooperation agreement
The Moroccan House of Councilors and the Senate of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen parliamentary cooperation. The agreement was signed in Arusha, Tanzania, on the sidelines of the 153rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The memorandum, signed by Mohamed Ould Rachid, President of the House of Councilors, and Tanzila Narbaeva, President of the Senate of Uzbekistan, aims to institutionalize cooperation between the two legislative bodies. Key areas of collaboration include the exchange of expertise, parliamentary visits, capacity building, and cooperation in legislative, oversight, and administrative fields.
The agreement also focuses on joint initiatives, workshops, and forums for parliamentarians and staff. Both parties committed to intensifying consultation and coordination within regional and international parliamentary organizations to serve their mutual interests.
