Morocco and Yemen agree on vocational training partnership

Morocco and Yemen have agreed to establish a strategic partnership focused on vocational training, technical education, and skills development. During meetings in Rabat, Moroccan Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills Younes Sekkouri met with Yemeni Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Anwar Mohammed Ali Kalshat Al-Mahri to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The discussions centered on modernizing governance in training institutes, updating curricula to meet labor market demands, and implementing apprenticeship models between training centers and enterprises. Yemen expressed a specific interest in leveraging the Moroccan experience, particularly the ‘Cities of Professions and Skills’ model, to help formulate a national strategy for technical education in Yemen.

To ensure the implementation of these agreements, both nations agreed to form a joint committee. This committee will oversee the execution of framework agreements, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and coordinate the training of instructors and the sharing of pedagogical tools and methodologies.
