Morocco aviation sector sees growth in flight capacity and aerospace exports
Morocco's aviation sector is experiencing significant growth in both commercial capacity and industrial output. For the summer 2026 season, Ryanair is projected to lead international connections departing from Morocco, accounting for 27.9% of scheduled international seats. This surpasses Royal Air Maroc, which holds 26.2% of international capacity, though the national carrier remains the overall leader with 31.1% of total capacity due to its domestic network and Casablanca hub.
On the industrial side, Morocco's aeronautical ecosystem has expanded to include 150 companies and approximately 26,000 jobs, with a local integration rate exceeding 40%. Aerospace exports rose by 10% in 2025 to 29.087 billion dirhams. To further showcase this industrial momentum, the Marrakech Airshow is scheduled for October 7–10, 2026. The event will serve as a strategic platform for innovation in aeronautics, defense, and space technologies, highlighting Morocco's role as a regional hub for both civil and military aerospace industries.
