Morocco defeats Lesotho in AFCON qualifier amid Aguerd injury

Morocco secured a 2-0 victory over Lesotho in their second 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, moving to the top of their group with six points from two wins. Brahim Diaz opened the scoring in the 45th minute, followed by a second goal from Azzedine Ounahi in the 82nd minute.

Despite the win, the Moroccan national team faces defensive challenges as defender Nayef Aguerd has been ruled out of the squad due to injury. The Olympique Marseille player will remain in Morocco to undergo rehabilitation at the Mohammed VI Football Complex. The Moroccan Football Federation confirmed that no replacement will be named for the roster.
