Morocco Education Ministry Announces 2026‑27 School Start Dates

The Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training and Sports issued a ministerial decree (No. 047.26, dated 3 July 2026) confirming that the 2026‑27 academic year will begin on the dates set in the decree. Administrative staff are to sign entry records on 1 September 2026, with teachers and education officials signing on 2 September.

Students will start school according to grade level: early‑year pupils, first‑ and second‑grade primary students, and first‑year secondary students on 3 September; third‑ and fourth‑grade primary, second‑year secondary and first‑year baccalaureate on 4 September; fifth‑ and sixth‑grade primary, third‑year secondary and second‑year baccalaureate on 5 September; and the remaining grades on 7 September. Non‑formal education programmes will commence on 5 October 2026. The ministry called on all educational actors, families and partners to mobilise collectively to ensure a successful start and to secure teaching and learning time for all students.
