Morocco establishes interministerial committee to protect purchasing power

Moroccan Head of Government Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri presided over a meeting in Rabat to address the national economic situation and the impact of price fluctuations on citizens. The government expressed awareness of the economic pressures affecting Moroccan households, particularly poor and middle-class families.

To mitigate the effects of rising prices and ensure the stable supply of essential goods, the government has decided to create an interministerial committee. This committee, comprising various relevant government sectors, will meet periodically to monitor price developments and implement necessary measures.

Special attention will be given to products experiencing high demand, specifically during the holy month of Ramadan. The meeting included several high-ranking officials, including the ministers of the Interior, Economy and Finance, Agriculture, Industry and Trade, and Transport and Logistics.
