Morocco expands regional cooperation with Libya and Côte d'Ivoire

Morocco is expanding its economic engagement with Libya through a multisectoral mission scheduled for Tripoli from October 25 to 29, 2026. Organized by the Moroccan Confederation of Exporters (ASMEX) in partnership with the Libyan Union of Industries and the Maghreb Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade (BMICE), the initiative seeks to identify market opportunities beyond the hydrocarbons sector.

Key target sectors include manufacturing, industrial equipment, raw materials, logistics, digital solutions, tourism, and services. As Libya focuses on reconstruction, significant demand is expected in infrastructure, water management, agriculture, renewable energy, and urban development, supported by the African Development Bank’s 2025-2028 strategy for the country.

In a separate bilateral development, a delegation from Côte d'Ivoire’s Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs conducted a strategic mission to Morocco on September 24 and 25, 2026. The delegation met with the National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) to study Moroccan practices in road safety, driver licensing, vehicle registration, and technical inspections. The goal is to adapt these models to improve transport security and service reliability in Côte d'Ivoire.
