Morocco Expands Youth Development Dialogue and Gaming Startup Ecosystem

Morocco’s "Parlons Développement" initiative, coordinated by the World Bank, UNDP and the Policy Center for the New South, reports that over 40,000 young people have taken part in discussions on employment, entrepreneurship, water management, territorial innovation, citizenship education and gender‑based violence since 2021. The program has held 24 editions across 23 cities, partnering with 29 universities and civil‑society groups to broaden public participation beyond the main urban centres.

At the same time, Morocco is positioning itself as a leading hub for Africa’s gaming industry, with around 100 startups focused on video‑game development, digital innovation and interactive entertainment. More than 2,000 developers and 150 gaming‑culture associations support the ecosystem, reflecting significant investment in digital infrastructure, training programmes and partnerships aimed at boosting locally made games and attracting global market attention.
