Morocco extradites two Swedish nationals suspected of large-scale drug trafficking

Morocco has extradited two Swedish nationals to Sweden following a security cooperation agreement between the two countries. The individuals are suspected of involvement in large-scale drug trafficking operations.

The first suspect, a 28-year-old identified as Pakå Bakir, was arrested near Tangier on March 30 after being the subject of an Interpol red notice. Authorities allege he led a wholesale network that supplied significant quantities of narcotics to criminal organizations in Sweden and other Nordic countries. His network is linked to major seizures in Uppsala, Stockholm, and Malmö in early 2025, including 94 kg of 3-CMC and 56 kg of amphetamines. He also faces charges of aggravated attempted extortion.

The second suspect, aged 42, is accused of holding a leadership role in a criminal network responsible for smuggling large amounts of cannabis to Sweden between 2020 and 2021.

Jonas Hemmar, deputy head of the international unit at the National Operations Department (Noa), praised the professional cooperation with Moroccan police, noting that these extraditions follow a recently signed agreement aimed at locating and arresting high-level criminals.
