Morocco facilitates voluntary return of 137 Sudanese migrants

Moroccan authorities, in coordination with the Sudanese Embassy, organized the voluntary return of 137 Sudanese migrants from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport. The migrants, who were residing in Morocco irregularly, expressed a desire to return to their homeland to participate in Sudan’s reconstruction and development efforts.

This operation is part of Morocco’s national migration and asylum policy, which emphasizes a humanitarian approach and the respect of migrant rights and dignity. The Sudanese Ambassador to Morocco, Mawada Omar Hageltoam El Badawi, praised the initiative as a model for other African nations and highlighted the cooperation between the two countries as an example of South-South partnership. She also expressed gratitude to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan government for the facilities provided to ensure the success of this inaugural flight.
