Morocco approves housing support and industrial zone decrees

The Moroccan government, chaired by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, has approved several key decrees aimed at economic and social development. A major highlight is the amendment to the direct housing support scheme (Decree No. 2.26.578), which simplifies procedures for citizens purchasing primary residences and extends the deadline for concluding sales to 60 days to ensure legal security.

In industrial policy, the cabinet approved decrees for the creation and modification of industrial acceleration zones in Jorf and Bouknadel 2. Additionally, new regulations were adopted regarding higher education, scientific research, and the prohibition of chemical weapons.

Simultaneously, the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) has outlined five strategic priorities for the upcoming economic period: accelerating private investment, enhancing industrial competitiveness, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (TPMEs), developing professional skills, and promoting internationalization. During a meeting with CGEM representatives, Fouzi Lekjaa of the PAM party discussed economic challenges, emphasizing the need for regional decision-making, improved vocational training, and the central role of the private sector in wealth creation.
