Morocco: Popular Movement seeks “positive break” in government talks
Mohamed Ouzzine, Secretary-General of the Popular Movement party, announced a consensus with Fatima Zahra Mansouri, the head of the committee tasked with forming the government, to establish a “positive break” from the previous administration. Following consultative meetings at the Authenticity and Modernity Party headquarters, Ouzzine stated that the goal is to align with the dynamics of a “new Morocco” through renewed determination.
During the discussions, which included party leaders Imhand El Ansar and Hicham Rahil, the parties addressed several high-priority national issues. Key topics included finding effective solutions for youth excluded from the social system and implementing integrated territorial development to prevent developmental disparities. The talks also touched upon current geostrategic challenges and the autonomy initiative.
Ouzzine emphasized that the Popular Movement aims to serve the national interest regardless of whether the party joins the government majority or remains in the opposition. He noted that the appointment of Mansouri reflects the high status King Mohammed VI accords to Moroccan women in the country's developmental equations.
