Morocco Prepares Fan Zones and Security Support for 2026 World Cup

Airports of Morocco equipped six major airports—Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat‑Salé, Marrakech‑Menara, Agadir Al Massira, Fez‑Saïss and Tangier Ibn Battouta—with fan zones that include giant screens so travellers can watch the 2026 World Cup matches before boarding. The initiative, coordinated with the Ministry of the Interior, police, customs and Royal Air Maroc, aims to handle the surge in summer passenger traffic and provide a safe, convivial environment for supporters of the Atlas Lions.

During a visit to the International Police Cooperation Center, FBI Vice‑Director Christopher Wray praised the Moroccan Directorate General of National Security (DGSN‑DGST) for its significant contribution to the security arrangements for the tournament. He described Morocco as a "strategic, reliable and credible" partner, underscoring the kingdom’s role in the multilateral intelligence‑sharing and operational coordination that will protect delegations, fans and venues throughout the US‑hosted event.
