Morocco: Protests erupt in 45 cities against normalization

Hundreds of protesters participated in over 76 demonstrations across 45 Moroccan cities to express solidarity with the Al-Aqsa Mosque and condemn Israeli actions in Palestine. Organized by the Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Causes of the Ummah, these Friday protests aimed to voice public opposition to the normalization of relations between Morocco and Israel.

Protesters specifically rejected recent steps to upgrade diplomatic ties, such as the exchange of ambassadors. Demonstrators called on the Moroccan state to halt the normalization process, close the Israeli liaison office, and end all forms of cooperation and coordination with Israel. The organizers emphasized that the widespread geographic reach of the protests reflects a deep-seated public stance supporting Palestinian rights and independence, highlighting a gap between official government diplomatic tracks and popular sentiment.
