Morocco reaffirms support for Palestinian rights and Jerusalem in Amman

Moroccan Justice Minister Abdel Latif Wahbi, speaking at a ministerial meeting in Amman, said Morocco continues to back the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state within the June 4 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed that dialogue and negotiation remain the only viable path to resolve the Israeli‑Palestinian conflict and condemned ongoing settlement expansion, land confiscations, house demolitions and acts of violence.

Wahbi highlighted the personal involvement of King Mohammed VI, who chairs the Committee for Jerusalem, and cited projects carried out by the Agency of Al‑Bait al‑Mal al‑Quds Sharif to support the social, economic and cultural needs of Jerusalem’s residents. He also praised Jordan’s Hashemite custodianship of the city’s holy sites and warned that recent escalations around the Al‑Aqsa Mosque threaten regional stability.
