Morocco reaffirms support for Palestinian rights in New York

During the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita emphasized Morocco's commitment to a solution that preserves the historical and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Speaking at the annual coordination meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Bourita stated that Morocco seeks a solution leading to an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Bourita highlighted the critical situation in the region, citing Israeli military actions in Gaza, settlement expansion in the West Bank, and policies in Jerusalem. He noted that Morocco continues its diplomatic and field efforts through the Al-Quds Committee and the Beit Mal Al-Quds Agency to support the resilience of residents in Jerusalem.

Additionally, Bourita presided over the eighth ministerial meeting of the Atlantic African Initiative in New York. He noted that four years after its launch in 2022, the initiative is strengthening economic integration, infrastructure, and energy cooperation among Atlantic African nations to foster sustainable development and regional stability.
