Morocco receives first Airbus C295W transport aircraft
Morocco has received its first C295W transport aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space, marking a step in the modernization of its air logistics capabilities. The aircraft, manufactured in Sevilla, Spain, was tracked arriving at the Kenitra Air Base on September 29, 2026.
The C295W is a tactical twin-engine turboprop designed to replace or complement older models such as the CN-235, C-27J, and C-130H Hercules. This new model features increased cargo capacity of 8 tons, more powerful engines, and the ability to transport up to 70 soldiers or 48 paratroopers. The 'W' designation refers to the inclusion of winglets.
While official details regarding the total contract value and delivery schedule remain confidential, reports suggest Morocco has ordered between two and four units. This acquisition is part of a broader effort by the Moroccan Air Force to enhance its operational range and logistical framework.
