Morocco records over 51,800 new business registrations in H1 2026
Morocco recorded 51,805 new business registrations during the first half of 2026, according to data from the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC). Legal entities accounted for 75% of these new registrations, totaling 39,001, while individual enterprises made up the remaining 25% with 12,804 registrations.
The single-member limited liability company (SARL) emerged as the most preferred legal structure, representing 65.2% of legal entity creations, followed by classic SARLs at 33.7%.
Geographically, the Casablanca-Settat region led legal entity creation with 39.3% of the total. Other significant regions included Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (14.5%), Marrakech-Safi (12.5%), and Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (10.6%). Together, these four regions accounted for 76.9% of all new legal entities in the country. For individual enterprises, the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region held the highest share at 20.8%.
Sector-wise, commerce was the leading activity for legal entities at 27.2%, followed by construction and real estate at 25.4%, and various services at 20%. Transport and industry accounted for 7.5% and 6.3% of new legal entity creations, respectively.
