Morocco rugby coach Bernard Gouta targets first World Cup qualification
Bernard Gouta, the new head coach of the Moroccan national rugby team, has outlined a long-term strategic project aimed at qualifying the nation for the Rugby World Cup for the first time in its history.
In an interview with the French website ‘Ici.fr’, Gouta highlighted the royal vision of King Mohammed VI to enhance Morocco's international sporting presence and praised the country's existing sports infrastructure. He emphasized that his mission extends beyond immediate results to building a sustainable sporting model.
A central pillar of this plan is talent identification and youth development, specifically focusing on the Under-20 national team. Gouta noted that investing in these young players is essential, as they will form the core of a competitive senior squad within the next four years.
